Candidate adoption meeting

There was a great t urnout for Adrian Hyyrylainen-Trettt's Official Adoption meeting yesterday.

Resurgent Ipswich Liberal Democrats who've seen a more than 20% increase in new members since the announcement of the General Election welcomed the official adoption of their candidate, Adrian Hyyrylainen-Trett.

At the Friends Meeting House in Ipswich, Adrian Hyyrylainen-Trett was joined by Baroness Scott of Needham Market who spoke of Adrian's exceptional Equalities record as a campaigner for the Party, but also in overcoming complex mental health issues to support, campaign for change and help others in similar situations.

Baroness Scott, also emphasised the determination for the Liberal Democrats to have a very distinctive position, especially on Brexit of course, but also highlighting the values by which liberals live, being open, tolerant, respectful and valuing diversity and different communities.

The next five weeks we will campaigning to get the best result possible for Ipswich Liberal Democrats and ensuring a legacy to support next year's Council elections. Adrian thanked members for turning out in such large numbers giving him a boost with such an enthusiastic welcome, and he looked forward immensely to working closely with the local team for the election on Thursday 8th June.
