Gerald retired to Ipswich in 2017 with his wife having previously worked in Hertfordshire and then Exeter.

Ipswich was one of several areas they considered moving to in order to be nearer family and it was by far the best place they looked at based on no preconceived ideas about what Ipswich and the other places they considered they would like.

For all but two years of his working life, Gerald had a number of roles supporting young people and adults in their career decision making and helping them achieve their career goals.

He joined the Liberal Democrat Party in the 1980's because it embraced the key concepts of putting people first and the shared society all within strong communities.

If elected to the Ipswich Borough Council, he will listen to the concerns, views and ideas of the people living in the Alexandra community and work in partnership with residents and relevant partners to make the Alexandra area a better environment in which to live and work.

Gerald is willing to listen and learn from Alexandra area residents and to take any decisions based on evidence.
