Inga Lockington was first elected to the Borough Council in 1999 and to Suffolk County Council in 2001. Inga was the Portfolio Holder for Transport & the Environment on the Executive of Ipswich Borough Council, before becoming the first ever Liberal Democrat mayor of Ipswich in May 2007.
