I find it really upsetting to read that another Guide Dog has been attacked by a dog in our Town Centre. Some years ago I worked with blind & partly sighted residents and I know how important a Guide Dog is for people who need them. A Guide Dog gives them their independence tand enables them to get out and about.
The relationship between a blind person and their guide dog is one of trust and friendship. We must make sure they know we value and respect that partnership and want them to enjoy taking a full part in society. These attacks on guide dogs must end and I urge everyone to take the advice given by Helen Sismore, engagement officer at East Anglia Guide Dogs, in this news item in the Ipswich Star.
