Lib Dems Manifesto for Suffolk 2017

March 6, 2017 9:31 PM

Party President Baroness Sal Brinton joined Suffolk Liberal Democrats at Henley Community Centre on Saturday March 4th to help launch their Manifesto for the County Council Elections in May.

Baroness Sal Brinton said 'the Party had demonstrated that it was winning back support having had a net gain of over thirty local council seats in the last six months with party membership in Suffolk having doubled since the General Election."

She added "When I heard that the majority Conservative group in Suffolk had built up such large reserves over the past four years at the same time as cutting vital services I was flabbergasted."

Chair of Suffolk Liberal Democrats, Jon James said: "Since 2005 the Conservatives have run the County Council, reducing services whilst squirreling millions into the reserves. Our Manifesto focuses on six priority areas and offers Suffolk residents a positive way ahead, carefully investing for the future and pulling key services including social care back from the cliff edge".

Following the success in local authority bye-elections over the past nine months the Party is looking to add to our seats in May and build on its success in Hadleigh last Autumn.
