Labour axe falling on 4 more Post Offices in Ipswich

October 22, 2007 12:02 PM

Not satisfied with closing 6 Post Offices in Ipswich only 3 years ago Labour has come back for more.

'Postwatch', (the Government body tasked with shutting Post Offices), has been tasked with closing a further 2,500 Post Offices in the UK to add to the 4,000 closed since Labour came to power.

The Post Offices marked for closure in Ipswich are:

Christchurch Street

Fore Street

London Road &

Norwich Road.

Unfortunately the Government has not allowed much time for your views to be taken into account. Your views have to be with 'Postwatch' by the 19th of November. Details below.

Ipswich Liberal Democrats believe that our local Post Offices are a vital local service important for all and especially the elderly and vulnerable - a service worth fighting for.

Ipswich Liberal Democrats have started circulating a petition in the areas affected by this issue. If you would like to help please fill in this petition if you receive the leaflet or fill in the petition online here http://www.ipswichlibdems.org.uk/petitions/. Alternatively if you would like to collect signatures yourself please download a petition form from here:
