Ipswich leading the way in providing social housing

Ipswich has been praised for its excellent performance in providing high levels if social housing by the Suffolk Preservation Society.
Ipswich aims to provide over 30% of new homes as affordable and is hitting those targets. This is in sharp contrast to the rest of Suffolk where as little as 10% of new housing is affordable.
This praise follows two years of success where provision of new social housing is far in excess of the levels under Labour. Under their last few years in power the number of affordable homes actually fell! You wouldn't think that to judge by their condemnation of our record though!
