Richard Atkins (right) is showing what a positive difference Lib Dems are making to Ipswich
The Ipswich Business Improvement District (BID) has 4 more reasons to celebrate.
The BID has taken on 4 rangers whose job is to patrol the Town centre offering help and advice to shoppers and assisting the police and authorities in dealing with litter, graffiti and other offences. This is leading to problems that were not being managed being dealt with there and then.
Since patrols started the Rangers have helped 4,500 members of the public and have helped police with 10 arrests.
Further to the successful launch of the Rangers over 100 radios have been handed out in the Town centre to businesses in order to better co-ordinate security amongst the stakeholders in the BID and the authorities.
The BID was an initiative of the Borough Council under Lib Dem Economic Development portfolio holder Richard Atkins - again showing an innovative approach to improving Ipswich.
