Christmas is an important time to recycle.

Christmas is a difficult time for keen recyclers with an avalanche of packaging from presents, food and drink.

Ipswich recycling team have come up with tips for Christmas. Here are some of the best ones.

1) Buy rechargeable batteries for you childrens toys. They are sustainable and cheaper in the long run. Take used batteries to recycling centres which have battery banks for clean disposal.

2) Take old toys to your local charity shop.

3) Make a New Years resolution to recycle more.

4) Take unwanted clothes to the clothing bank or if in good condition the charity shops.

5) Put real christmas trees next to your brown bin, if you have one, they can be recycled.
