Ipswich Lib Dems want drinking off the streets
Ipswich Liberal Democrats are looking into introducing a Designated Public Places Order for Ipswich to tackle street drinking, yobbism and anti-social behaviour issues.
This tough stance will give the authorities the powers to arrest people who continue drinking booze once asked to stop. It does not however mean that responsible drinkers will be arrested. So having a glass of wine in the park with a picnic will be o.k.
Meanwhile Ipswich Borough Council is continuing to work with other agencies to provide help and advice to the hardcore of 30 street drinkers in order to tackle their problems and help them back to a productive life.
