Free Bus Passes right for 10,000 a week

Ipswich Lib Dems decision to extend free bus passes for the elderly and some disabled to peak times has paid off. Over 10,000 extra journeys a week are now being made.

This has a two fold benefit. It allows the elderly free travel encouraging and enabling them to get out and about more. It also has a huge Environmental benefit. It is still early to say but part of the reasoning is to keep more cars off the road and keep our air cleaner and produce less Carbon Dioxide which causes global warming.
